Beam Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 25, 2026

Summary: Beam processes media and local-network information on your Samsung TV so you can play content from USB storage and media servers. Beam does not send personal information to the developer, advertisers, analytics providers, or other third parties.

1. About Beam

Beam is a local and network media player for Samsung TVs. It lets you browse and play video, audio, image, and subtitle files from connected USB storage and compatible media servers on your local network.

2. Information processed by the app

To provide its features, Beam may process the following information locally on your TV:

3. How information is used

Beam uses this information only to discover local media servers, display your media library, play selected media, remember manually added servers, and resume playback. Network discovery is limited to devices reachable on your local network.

4. Storage and sharing

Saved server information and playback history are stored locally in the app's storage on your TV. Beam does not operate a cloud service and does not transmit this information to the developer. Beam does not sell personal information, use advertising or analytics SDKs, create user profiles, or share personal information with third parties.

When you play media from a local server, your TV communicates directly with that server. The server is controlled by you or its operator, and its own privacy practices may apply.

5. Permissions

Beam uses network access to communicate with local media servers, read-only file-system access to browse and play selected USB media, and TV input access to support remote-control keys. Beam does not request camera, microphone, contacts, precise location, payment, or account permissions.

6. Retention and deletion

Playback history and saved server information remain on the TV until you clear them in Beam's Settings or uninstall the app. Media files remain on your USB storage or media server and are not copied to the developer.

7. Children's privacy

Beam does not knowingly collect or transmit personal information from children. The app provides the same local media-player functionality to all users.

8. Security

Beam is designed for use on a trusted local network. You are responsible for securing your Wi-Fi or wired network and any media server you connect to Beam.

9. Changes to this policy

If Beam's data practices change, this policy will be updated and the effective date above will be revised.

10. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, use the support or security contact method published with the official Beam repository.
